Casting spoiler number three has arrived, courtesy of Ausiello. The same arc which features Robert Picardo and Chevy Chase will also feature Scott Bakula… as Papa Bartowski!

Of the three casting spoilers for this arc, two are Trek alum, one’s an SNL alum, and all three are DAMN FINE-looking older men. Can I get an amen?! Mr. Baldwin had better be careful he doesn’t get outclassed on his own turf!

Actually, I hated Enterprise, but I love Scott Bakula. I also love saying his name. It’s fun.
Back on subject: I like the idea of Bakula as Daddy Bartowski. I think he can pull off both the drama and comedic aspects that role may entail. And I have been wondering where the eff he’s been…
I’m not ashamed to admit that Enterprise and Voyager, arguably the red-headed step-children of the Trek-verse, are my favorites. I was wondering who they’d get who looked like Chuck could fit into his suits. I’ll buy Bakula, easy, and with a smile.
@goddessdster Actually Scott just got another TV series. I think it’s a comedy. It’s called Men of a Certain Age and it also has Ray Romano in it. I think it’s going to be on cable though.

Hmmm…I just don’t quite see Scott Bakula as a Bartowski. I could be wrong (probably am) but my current perceptions of him just won’t let me see it.
Hopefully I am proven wrong and he will be…well, awesome!

Now, of course, I am very curious to see who they cast as the nefarious *Mama* Bartowski some day. Perhaps someone a little skinnier and quirkier with curly hair to make up for the Non-Bakula-ish bits in the Bartowski kids?
I’m still looking forward to that plot, because Mama Bartowski not a figure you usually see on tv. She abandoned her children *first*, prompting the Bartowski “Mother’s Day” thing. Maybe next year? I wonder if she’s Fulcrum. Because if they do the Daddy Daddy all about Daddy, no mention of the mysterious mother maybe she’s dead thing, and never pick that plot back up, I will be sad.
